Help us build early childhood education in the Maasai community

Empowering Maasai children through quality early childhood education and community development.

About Us

Nasaru is at the beginning of its journey. We are building the foundation for a long term early childhood education project in the Maasai community, and we are looking for volunteers, partners and supporters who want to help us build it.

Nasaru Child Foundation is a community led nonprofit organization based in Oltukai Village, Monduli District, Arusha Region, Tanzania. We are committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children through quality early childhood education, child protection, and community development.

Working together with families, local leaders, volunteers, and partners, we provide a nurturing learning environment while promoting children’s health, nutrition, and overall well being.

The challenge

Every child deserves a safe place to learn

In underserved Maasai communities, access to quality education and essential services is often limited. Children frequently start primary school without the early learning that helps them keep up, and lessons happen wherever there is shade or space.

Early childhood is when the habits of learning are formed. It is the point where a small amount of support changes the whole path that follows, which is why we have chosen to start here.

We believe that every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

What we are building

A preschool the community runs itself

Nasaru is working to create better early childhood education opportunities and community support in the Maasai community of Oltukai Village.

That means permanent classrooms and child friendly toilets, a nutritious daily meal for every child who attends, teachers trained in early childhood education, books and learning materials, and parents and local leaders who are part of running it.

We are building it step by step, and we are open about where we currently stand.

Our Work

Six programmes, one goal

Early Childhood Education

Providing quality early learning for Maasai children through play based education, literacy, numeracy, and a safe, nurturing environment that prepares them for primary school.

02

Safe Preschool Construction

03

School Feeding Program

04

Working with parents, local leaders, and volunteers to strengthen education and create lasting community support for children.

05

06

Our current priority

Our first fundraising campaign is open now

We do not yet have established funders. Everything raised goes into building the project from the ground up, and we will report back here on what it paid for.
